Why doesn’t preview work in HTML5?
August 24, 2019
I am an agile coach and an executive leadership coach. I typically work with organizations who want to transform their culture, often involving many people, like my current client of 300,000 people. I'm hoping to learn to do eLearning well enough to scale myself.

I am not able to preview in HTML5. Not with any project of any type. For example, see my attached captivate file. It is non responsive, with just one slide with just one text caption.

I have tried previewing in html5 with about 10 captivate projects both responsive and non responsive, including them templates included in the asset. None work to preview in html5.

As of this week (9/3/19), I tried to preview Captivate 2019 project. It launches Google Chrome but the pre-loader simply spins without doing anything else.

Did you check the HTML tracker under Project menu?

Forgot to ask: did you try another browser (Edge, Firefox) as well? If yes, do you have the same problem with the eternal spinning wheel?

Did you try to use code to force AutoPlay?

I can view that project perfectly. Something is wrong with either the CP installation or with the browser you are using.

Didn’t fully understand the question apparently.  I thought you were not able to use other preview methods than F11. Can you please Clean the Preferences. Fluid boxes should preview fine in HTML5. Just want to ask: which browser did you try? By default HTML output will open in the browser which you set as default browser. The worst you can choose is IE, because it is not supporting HTML5 well.

Have posted this multiple times everywhere. The only Preview method for non-responsive projects which will reflect approximately the future HTML5 output is F11 – Preview HTML in Browser. I have logged a feature request since at least version 8 to have the same possibilities  as Fluid Boxes projects for Preview HTML5 but never have been heard. Probably because too few users logged that request.
