By default, there in not a project duration field noted for an Adobe Captivate Project when it is published to the Adobe Connect Content Library; if you publish to Adobe Connect, the default fields appear as follows under the Content Information tab:
You may add the additional field under the Content Information Tab as depicted below; in this case I have 4 slides at 10 seconds per slide:
The simple way to add this is by editing the breeze-manifest.xml file in the Captivate output. To create and edit to that file, first make sure you have chosen Adobe Connect as the LMS when publishing in Adobe Captivate 2019:
Publish the project locally on your authoring client as a zip file making sure that Adobe Connect remains the eLearning option as depicted below in Adobe Captivate 2019:
After publishing locally to a zip file, extract the zip and edit the breeze-manifest.xml file.
Note: If you do not see a breeze-manifest.xml file then go back the project in captivate and make sure that Adobe Connect is the eLearning option and republish to a zip file.
Use any good text or xml editor and simply add the field: duration=”##” to the document type section of the XML file. In this example pictured below, I have added 40 seconds as my estimate (10 seconds per slide seems adequate):
<document type=”captivate” icon=”captivate” section-count=”4″ duration=”40″/>
After editing the breeze-manifest.xml file, zip the published project output and upload it as a zip file to the Adobe Connect Content Library. Adobe Connect supports select zip content and will play the project from the zip:
Now the Content Information field in the Adobe Connect Content library shows the duration of the published project:
The procedure above is depicted in Adobe Captivate 2019 and Adobe Connect 10.5.1. To see this procedure in a legacy version of Adobe Captivate, see the following 2014 tech-note on the Adobe Connect Support Blog: http://blogs.adobe.com/connectsupport/adding-duration-field-to-captivate-content-in-adobe-connect/
