Hi, I’m sure I’m missing something simple here. I’ve got a basic character image in a quiz that, on correct executes a script to replace the default character image with either a success or failure image.
Let’s say on slide one, it’s “Image_02”
Works just fine on the first slide.
The system won’t let me use “Image_02” as that character image name on the second slide because it is already taken – therefore the script doesn’t work. I’m sure there must be an easier way than “writing” or copying the same script with different names over and over and over again just to change the “Image_0?” name it interacts with on each slide.right?
I decided to take this on as a challenge. In this video tutorial, I show you how you could create a series of multi-state objects that will trigger different states. You will get a caption and image of a character who is positive when you get the question correct. Adversely you get a negative caption and reaction when you select the wrong answer. I hope this helps you Timothy.
Show Different Character Reactions in Your Adobe Captivate Quiz
BTW forgot to tell that I have created a sequence of at least 11 blogs about quizzes. One of them talks about using Images as feedback, both in reponsive and non-responsive projects:

It would be easier if your title was meaningful, but I am not a moderator in this portal.
Suspect that you are talking about advanced actions? In which version of Captivate (see Help, About Captivate)?
There are two possible workflows, not sure that both can be used since I don’t have enough details:
- You talk about quiz slides, are they in sequence? You have added a custom object, which may be a multistate object (with different images in states) but from your description you talk about multiple images. Reason why I ask about the version, since this would be much easier with a multistate object. You can time the object (or objects) for the rest of the project (and hide them after the quiz slides). That way the object or objects keep the same IDs and you can reuse the advanced action. This will work only if you use the same images on each quiz slide.
- Alternative is to use a Shared action (exist since 7 years) instead of Advanced actions. That will work even if you do not use the same images or multistate object on each slide.
