Combining Simulation Software Slides

Hi there! I’m trying to record audio over an existing software simulation but having difficulty. Any advice on how to either combine multiple software simulation slides into one or creating an audio recording to play over multiple slides?

I agree with Lieve that the slide approach to software simulation is easier to synch audio. You could record your audio in one long file import it onto the first slide and then use the Audio > Edit > Project and then use the Slides Audio window and apportion the audio to the appropriate slides by moving the Slide markers. Once you have them in place and click Save you will see the results in the Library > Audio folder as it slices the one audio file into clips, one for each of the slides.

Here a link to the first blog about software sims:

I have published a first blog about Software simulations (Preparation) recently. Two more to come (Recording and Editing).

It seems like you are pretty new to Captivate. One of the big advantages of its slide-based approach for software simulations is exactly the ease of synchronizing with audio. Create one audio clip per slide, either in Captivate (from Audio menu, Recording, Slides) or in a dedicated audio application like Audition or Audacity. You will add them as slide audio to the slides. Audio clips have a big file size, they need to be loaded On enter for each slide. So keep them as short as possible. Moreover I always recommend to leave a small gap before and after the audio timeline in the Timeline panel. That offers a little bit more time to load the clip, and avoids that Captivate stitches all the clips to one big project audio clip which needs to be loaded at the  start.
