The latest update of Adobe Captivate (2019 release) includes support for macOS Catalina 10.15 and other fixes.

Oracle JDK Support for Captivate 2019 Update 4 Mac (11.5.4)

Adobe Captivate 2019 uses JAVA for running some of its features without interruptions. In 2018, Oracle made changes to its support of Java SE which would require businesses to have a commercial license for updates and support.

To ensure our customers have a hassle free experience on MAC without feature interruptions, we are happy to announce that effective immediately, support and distribution of Oracle Java SE, including all maintenance updates of Long Term Support (LTS) releases (Oracle JAVA 13), will be supported by Adobe directly for all Captivate 2019 customers making use of the Oracle Java technology as part of their Captivate 2019 projects.

Adobe shall keep you posted on any change in its support terms with Oracle that may impact customer. While we understand that there are alternatives to Oracle Java, including OpenJDK, we have currently decided to stick with Oracle Java. Captivate 2019 customers may contact the Adobe customer care organization for all issues about their Captivate 2019 applications, including the underlying Oracle Java SE software.

I’m having a ton of issues with Captivate update 4.  I have not been able to get a clean install, and I’ve worked hours with Adobe support to resolve the issues to no avail.   They have remote into my machine several times and still the issues exist.  Several features just don’t work.  I get errors and the software crashes when I try to create a new document from Powepoint, virtual project, and I can not browse for recent files – at the welcome screen.  I get the same behavior when attempting to perform the same actions inside the software.

Here’s my ticket/reference number. CRM:01073000004713.  I’m fervently trying to get this issue resolved because I have not been able to use the software since October.  I simply can not do my work.  Please help!

I’ve been waiting for this to download a Trial!  Has the trial download been updated (before I go through a failed installation all over again)?

Thanks!

Hope someone from the staff will answer your question, since I am a Windows user it is difficult to answer Mac users.

I downloaded it this morning and the trial they have up does not work. I would wait until you hear from Adobe. I downloaded it it because of the new release. If Adobe doesn’t fix this soon, we will have to choose someone else.

Maybe you should explain what is not working? Are you on Mac or Windows?

Hi, are the release notes already available? Could you post a link if/when they are?

No specific release notes for the Catalina update… I suspect.
