We published files using the 2017 version, all was working until not too long agao and we are getting an Error 500. IS this due to the new version that has been released? Will we need to rework in this version? If someone could point me in the right direction, would be much appreciated.

Looks more like there have been external changes, maybe to the used browser. You didn’t specify whether that is a course with SWF or HTML5 output? As announced 3 years ago, most browser will not have the Flash Player plugin installed anymore, maybe not even make it possible to activate that plugin this year. Another problem could be that you published with AutoPlay in mind, and that this feature is no longer supported by the browser. IMO it is not linked with Captivate changes.
