Hi!

I’m using Captivate 8 to build some E-Learnings. And I need that the user sees how many slides have been completed or seen (they are mostly videos) through a percentage.

I’ve found this Advanced Action that makes that:

https://elearning.adobe.com/2017/01/progress-indicator-as-a-percentage/

The problem is that if the user goes directly to the last slide it automatically shows 100%, that maintains when he goes back.

Has anyone the same problem?

Is there a variable/function to check how many slides have been seen by the user?

Thank you in advance!

I have created two possible solutions, the first has been released by moderation, the second is still waiting for moderation. Both are using one shared action. You do have shared actions in your (old) version already, so you could use the workflows. All screenshots are made with version 11.5, may look bit different. Feel free to ask more quesions. Here is the link to the first solution:

A way to calculate the percentage is to have one Boolean tracking variable for each slide. Will try to write out the workflow in a blog post if I find time.

You didn’t get an answer from the author of that video? Weird but you cannot force anyone of course.

The easiest way to show the kind of percentage you want is to use the TOC, which will show exactly that percentage. The system variables used in the TOC are not exposed, which is a pity (often asked for it). I could find a workaround to do so with a shared action but you are on a very old version of Captivate, and it would be rather complicated.  Maybe try the TOC alternative?
