Good day!

I would like to have the ability to cut shapes out of other shapes. I am working on a demo and I would like to highlight a particular section of a toolbar in order to discuss its functions. For that purpose I would like to darken the screen except for the toolbar area. This would necessitate cutting a shape (for the highlighted area) out of another shape (the rest of the image onscreen) and I cannot find the shape tools. Please help!

Why not use the Highlight box in that case and turn on the ‘Fill Outer Area’ option?

I understand what you mean, gave up logging that feature request to have the same functionality for a shape because it can have any form, not just rectangular.

Another possible workflow would be to create SVGs with a transparent ‘hole’… more work.

BTW what is the link between the title and the content of your question? I am not a native English speaker, know perfectly well the meaning of a Boolean variable, but a Boolean operation?
