Adding a Banner to a recorded training simulation

I am relatively new to Captivate and understand how to record a training simulation. However, after recording the project, my manager asked for an image to appear across the top of every slide. This is basically an image created by our Marketing Manager that is inserted above the slide (it contains our logo).

My manager then asked someone else to add this image to do this on the previously recorded projects. I have asked the person to send me instructions on what he did but he is contract, so I’ve not heard back as yet. I now find myself in a situation where i need to add the image about three new slides I had to add to the simulation.

Can anyone tell me how he might have done this? I also need to know how to “improve” on this as there is a slight hitch with any recorded video steps (such as resizing or moving an object). the animated slide shrinks to run the animation and then goes back to the full slide size to continue the simulation.

I have attached a copy of the project in HTML as a zip file per above. I am pretty desperate to figure this out as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Great idea, did you ever end up executing?

Quite a few years ago I created a blog about a possible solution. Several users told me the workflow is still valid.

Software simulations use the Blank master slide, and fill that slide completely. I don’t know how your predecessor created his solution. The ‘animation’ slides are probably Full Motion Recording slides, which means they are movie slides originally SWF-based. For HTML output they will be converted to MP4 but not always perfectly.

Here is a link to that old article. I am not very much inspired anymore to update old blog posts. Sorry about that.

The idea is to create a master slide (bigger resolution than your software sim) with a transparent part to fit in the software sim slides. The rest is done by resizing the software sim project.
