Is it possible to download or export the draft of an ongoing project for review by a SME for comment and review?

Thank you so much for your guidance! I’m going to try the SCORM Cloud route.

That is for sure the best way if you do use Reporting.

For some reason I couldn’t edit my comment, but Lieve brought the interactive piece to my attention and I wanted to advise that I send a printout PDF to compliment a live course reviewed in a LMS specifically for testing. I have never tried, but maybe seek some insight on exporting a course as .exe…grant it you have a secure way to store and share larger files.

As already mentioned, there USED to be…another option is to print your project, but warning, it is in no way pretty! You’ll need to play around with the output settings. I typically print as a Handout (disabling the tables options) and checking the box for Include objects and questions. If I need to present the slide notes/Closed Captions, I also check Slide notes.

I didn’t mention that possibility at all because for an ‘eLearning course’ this is totally obsolete. Printed handouts are fine for a linear presentation, not for efficient eLearning which has branching, lot of interactivity, multistate objects, effects, objects who appear and disappear etc..

I have been asked for handouts when I presented about Captivate, which I always do with a Captivate project. If my proposal to hand over the URL for a self-controlled  published version is not accepted (not even by eLearning conference managers) I have an InDesign template (real template) for that purpose. In many instances the creation of such a document took me many hours of screenshots, since slides need to be duplicated many times for an interactive project.

If you really want to guarantee to show the result of your developing NEVER use a static version for Review.

Totally agree. My reviewers typically see the course live and use the PDF to reference their notes and return it to me.

We have a LMS specifically for testing…I’ll update my comment to mention this, good point.

It used to be possible to Publish (you don’t export a cptx file) to an interactive pdf, but that was in the SWF period.

At this moment, the answer is no. The Reviewer is still available, but needs some installation on the reviewer’s system.

Recommended way to show your work is to publish to HTML5, upload to a webserver or a LMS and provide the URL. You only need a LMS (like SCORM Cloud which allows limited free upload) if you publish with configured Reporting. In all other cases you only need a webserver. You can install such a webserver on your system or look for free ways. Try AWS?
