Hiya, can anyone provide advise on how to use Captivate to create a webinar.
Thanks
My whole life is one webinar after another. I’m a big believer in using the right tool for the right job. Can you hammer a nail into a wall with a frying pan? Yes, but a hammer is best. In the same way, can I display content from Adobe Captivate as a presentation for my webinar participants? Yes, but screen sharing tools and presentation software is best. Mostly because it was designed for these purposes and include features that lend themselves to this situation.
Strange question but I will give it a try.
I suspect you are talking about the ‘presentation’ used during the webinar? What will you use as platform? In my career I have presented many times about Captivate and other eLearning topics, but instead of the usual PPT used by most presenters I prefer always creating a Captivate project. Reason: I find it less limited, and it is very easy to convert it later on to an interactive course by adding learner controls and narration. The most recent webinar I presented was in the June eLearning World conference. The recording is still available under eLWorld button here. It was ‘Deep dive into Captivate’.. The used presentation was a Captivate project.
Why? To me it is logical that I use Captivate tutorials, not passive video, to teach Captivate and Captivate presentation in any platform (I prefer Connect) when presenting a webinar about Captivate. Instead of having to create a theme both in PPT and Captivate, when I use a Captivate presentation I can reuse all my knowledge, including many shared actions, to create a more interactive presentation than in PPT, which is almost ready for distribution as self-controlled tutorial for the participants instead of static handouts.
If you meant something else, please clarify.
