Help – Image drag-and-drop functionality

Hi all, I’m taking the Adobe Certified Professional course for Captivate and the training demonstrates multiple ways to add/change images, including drag-and-drop. I don’t seem to have that functionality as when I try to drag, once the file leaves the document folder the mouse converts to an “X” on my PC (Windows). The instructor uses a Mac; is it a difference in OS or do I need to update my settings to be able to do this?

Thanks from a complete noobie!

You are not the only one. I rarely am able to use the drag workflow to get images from Explorer on the Captivate stage, nor in the Project Library. And you may know that I am not a newbie.

Just a tip: if you need lot of images to be used in a project, import them all at once to the Library with the Import button. What will be possible is to drag the image from the Library to a slide.  It avoids to use the Media, Image import for each image. More about the Library:

Another workflow which I often use, is importing a source PSD-file where each image is on a layer. When imported to the Library, you’ll have a folder named after the PSD file, and in that folder a PNG image for each of the layers. There are more possibilities, you can find a blog recently published here if you want to learn more about that import (roundtripping) and its features.
