You pointed out the culprit yourself: D-drive is not on your system but is a networked drive. Never work on a cptx file which is not on your system. Download it from that D-drive to a folder on your PC, and after saving upload it again to the D-drive.

You are on Windows apparently using 11.5.5.553.

Do you run Captivate with ‘Run as Administrator’ feature?

The error box can appear in many circumstances. It is possible that is was not closed correctly (as mentioned) and that you have files with .lck extension in the folder. Can you check and eventually delete those files?

Moreover, check the size of the cache folder (should also be on your system, I suppose D is a disk or disk partition on your system). If it is getting too big, clear it using the button in Preferences, General settings.

Try to clean the Preferences. Find the subfolder ‘utils’ under the Captivate installation folder. Run CleanPreferencesWin.bat while CP is closed.

Hi!

  1. Yes, I’m running it with ‘Run as Administrator’ feature cause my captivate won’t even run without doing so.
  2. Can you tell me how to find those files? I found one and deleted it but my project still can’t be opened.
  3. I don’t have D partition on my system but this file was on a network. Tried to copy to other place  and open yet still failed
  4. Have cleaned the Preferences too but still no luck T.T

Apparently, I’ve tried all the possible ways (I found on the discussion corner) but yeah T_____T
