1. how do I get a hotspot to appear for more than a second? (My vr video is about 20 seconds)

2. when I publish the hotspot it appears as just a black square, why?

3. Can I get the video to autoplay? Even more annoyingly, the second slide autoplays for a second and then stops. The first slide won’t autoplay at all. It would be important for them both to autoplay and not stop until the end

Thank you

AutoPlay for HTML5 output is disabled by most browsers. For that reason the published project will not be able to autoplay. There are some workarounds, but which could fail in any new version of the browser. Making the static screen with the Play button more engaging for the learner is an alternative and has been explained in many articles. Here is one I published years ago when AutoPlay was disabled:

BTW: it helps when you mention the exact version you are using (full number is under Help, About Captivate) and the OS.

I would like to help you but need some clarifications (terminology is a problem).

You talk about ‘hotspots’? The only situation where this term is used in Captivate’s official documents is for VR projects or 360 slides? I see a small indicator (vr video) which points to that situation.

You talk about a ‘video’ but I think you published to HTML5? You need to upload the published folder to a webserver to get the full functionality. Was that the case or did you test only locally? Hotspots in VR video are bit tricky, have a blog about the Timeline in such a video, which could perhaps clarify? Or did you mean a succession of static 360 slides? Here is a link to that blog:

Because I want to post a second link, will continue in another comment (more than 1 link leads to waiting time for moderation).
