Hmm. Puzzling. Personally haven’t experienced that as I have not used characters as of yet. For the projects I have developed (and I am still newer to the software) I haven’t designed them with characters. But it is troubling that this is happening.

I’ve run into this or a similar issue recently. If I attempt to insert a character, the first attempt nothing happens. If I attempt it once more it works. I’ve reported this to Adobe. If you are experiencing this issue you should fill in the bug report form so they can get on fixing it. https://adobe.allegiancetech.com/cgi-bin/qwebcorporate.dll?Y9CHVD

I’ve had the same problem as well as having the characters window oddly resize and cut off the right half. Anyplace I click doesn’t correspond to the actual clickable icon.

Thanks Paul. I’ll report it too.

You are not alone, many users suffer from the same problem. Did you clear the Preferences? If you are on Windows (cannot help Mac users) check if the Characters have been downloaded to the Public documents\Characters 11_5?
