help opening Captivate

Can anybody help me ?

I have just downloaded captivate free trial and when i launch the app , it says Adobe Captivate has stopped working.

I have just been made redundant and trying to brush up on my skills by downloading AC on my laptop…. it is not going very well so far !

system capability from what i have read seems ok

2.60GHz

8.00 GB

64 bit OS

Windows 8.1

Hope this helps. Try removing the old software from your computer from the uninstall menu located under Device Manager. Restart your computer after removal. Turn off all of your virus and spyware protection. Turn off your Firewall (only to install the software). Make sure you have the required hard drive space and try a new installation of Captivate. I would also advise that you use direct firewire connection instead of wifi to download and install Captivate. Good Luck!!

Are you sure about the OS?

Do you run Captivate with the option ‘Run as Administrator’? Is everything set up on your system, not on a networked drive? This includes the paths to the Cache and Projects. You may have a roaming profile.
