Captivate 2019 – apparently my project file that I have been working on for 8 months is corrupt. I’ve tried dcache. I do have backup files and I haven’t cleared my cache. Are there solutions out there? This is a huge work project and all my captivate files on my machine will not open, regardless of when they were created. How do I recover my project files?

Not sure if you wanted to know also how to use the backup files? Just delete the extension ‘bak’ from the name (maybe edit or add one character in the name) and you should be able to open the backup file. At least if the problem described in the blog by Allen didn’t lead to a proper solution.

If you are still having problems, send a mail to CaptivateHelp@adobe,com

I’m sure a staff member will help you out.

Hello Shelley! I don’t know when you posted this question, it just appears now for me after moderation.

I wonder if you have been victim of a rather general problem for Windows user which started last Tuesday (one week ago)?  There are quite a lot of threads here, and in the Adobe forums. There was a workaround for a couple of days but on Saturday the bug was defined and solved. Can you have a look at this blog by Dr. A. Partridge:
