I use pictures from Depositphoto’s to ullustrate my e-learning modules. But more than once I discover a red field where the picture should have to shine. Can you help me to prevent these annoying fields?
Thanks in advance,
Wim Mathijssen
Sometimes this is due to graphics drivers which are not updated, or to lack of resources.
Resize your images (any format) to the size you need them in Captivate. Do not resize them in Captivate because the file size will not decrease in that case. You didn’t tell the format of the images: PNG, JPEG?
Thanks Lieve,
My pictures are all JPEG.
I was surprised to see one photo from the same vendor in Captivate without problems, while another photo appeared as a red box. Is it possible that Captivate doesn’t accept files which are too large? And what is the maximum size of a picture?
I never had an issue like yours, but I always resize photos (in Photoshop or another application) to the size I need them in Captivate. There is probably not a maximum size for a picture but I always keep in mind that the output of the course should be as small as possible so that even on mobile devices and with lower bandwidth the waiting time is not too big. If you resize the photos inside Captivate their file size will not decrease. For JPEG you can also play with the quality scale and keep the compressing settings to deliver affordable quality without overkill.
