Hotspot icons sometimes disappear.

I am using hotspots in a 360 degree still image project, with multiple slides.  The hotspots either have text or a video when selected.

There has been a view times when previewing the project that the all the hotspot icons disappear before they are selected.  As well as, there is no longer an indication of what hotspots have been selected (no green check mark).  This does not happen during every preview.

The hotspots are there, but I need to hover over the area where the hotspot icon was and when I am in the right location a flashing yellow circle will show up that I can select.  The video or text still appears as normal.

I have tried multiple scenarios, either by selecting all the videos first, or by selecting all the text hotspots first. I starting playing the project then just let it sit for awhile thinking it may be a timing issue. But I have not found a repeatable way to cause the icons disappear.

Has anybody experienced this before?

I am using Captivate version 11.5.5.553 on a Windows 10 computer.

Hello,

I attached a screenshot of my timeline.

I am using a static 360 image.

Under the Preview drop down I have been using Project.  I tried it in Firefox and Chrome.  I also tried using F11 but I get the same results.

I did read through your blog, I am going to try to use multiple slides with less hotspots per slide.  Maybe it is a timing issue and if the user is taking too long to get through the hotspots they disappear?  I don’t know.

I appreciate you taking a look at this.

Timeline is fine, but not the Preview method. I repeat: use only F11, Preview HTML in Browser. Can you tell which browsers you tried for testing?

Hello,

I tried F11, preview in HTML.  Using the Chrome Browser, I have the same issue with the hot spot icons disappearing.

I changed my default browser to Firefox  pressed F11 and using the Firefox browser the hot spot icons still disappear.

Thank you.

Maybe something in the setup of the hotspots? Which type are you using: guided or not?  Maybe add screenshots of the settings?

I tried multiple scenarios.

I tried guided and exploratory.  With the guided slides, I could get through two to three hotspots and then the icons would disappear.  When they would disappear the slide was no longer moving to the next hotspot.

I found a workaround though.  Initially I had hotspots for text and hotspots for videos on the same slide.  I found that if I remove the video hotspots and leave just the text hotspots the icons do not disappear.  I can leave the slides at exploratory or guided with no issues.

Then I put the same 360 image on a new slide with a single video hotspot, and that icon does not disappear.  Although I will not be able to have multiple video hotspots for the viewer to choose from, they can at least go through the presentation.

I wonder if the videos I created are too long, they are one to three minutes long on average.

I appreciate your time.

Not sure if you use static 360 image or video? That is an important difference.  Have a look at this blog:

I suspect (may be wrong) a timeline issue. Could you insert a screenshot of the timeline?

Do you always preview with F11, Preview HTML in Browser? Which browsers do you test in?
