Captivate 2019 – Software Simulation Issue

Hi,

I used Software Simulation about a month ago and worked well, however, I have tried to use again this week and I am not getting the output I would expect, no audible clicks, no ‘Select’ boxes, not all of my screens are showing in the filmstrip.

I have checked I am on the latest version and I am up to date.

I need to use this so that I can then hide the data as I am demoing a HR solution.

Anyone else getting this issue or is just me 🙂

I wished more people were ingaged in this site. You can also get similar threads over in https://community.adobe.com. You might find others over there but both Lieve and I comment lots there as well.

Unsure what your problem is however I’ve discovered that if you attempt to capture your software simulations on a monitor other than my primary monitor many of the mouse click and text typing captures don’t happen. If you are a multi monitor Captivate user, try moving the application you are trying to capture to your primary monitor and see if that makes a difference.

Without some more details, it is difficult to guess the origin of your problems.  Since it was working a month ago, my first question would be: Did you change anything at the hardware?  Did you replace the monitor, add a webcam, audio device?  Has anything changed to the software? You don’t tell if you are on Windows or Mac? Did you have a system update?

You tell that you are on the most recent version, but please post the full version number. You can find it under Help, About Captivate.
