I can’t open some files after uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Captivate
(4)

Hi, I am having problems opening some files after uninstalling Adobe Captivate and reinstalling it.

I had to uninstall and reinstall the program because it gave me an error when i tried to update Adobe Captivate. and after it failed to update the program would not open.

I can’t attach images to the post, nothing really works today for me because the image I want to attach weighs 13 KB.
What the message says is:

Adobe Captivate cannot open “course-name.cptx”.
Be sure to:
– The file is not already open.
– The file is not damaged. For example, if the file was an email attachment….
– The hard disk does not have enough space.
– The system has enough resources. To optimize…

This morning it opened without problem, but  when I reinstall the Adobe Captivate package it does not open some files. It does open older files from last year.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Thank you in advance

Carmela

That would have been my recommendation: you probably installed an older version, and it is not possible to open a project created with a newer version in an old version. Make sure that you also installed the most recent patches.

I could have sworn I had installed the same version the first time, as the update had given me an error just this morning. I’ve thought that maybe in the past few months it updated itself when connected to the internet but it’s almost certainly something you do manually. Anyway, clearly there must be something to that because it has been fixed by downloading the version from Adobe’s website which is the latest version available.

I will check the patches!

Thanks for the support
