Hi,
So I have an issue with the Apply Effect option…
I have created a smartshape which I am using to highlight an area of interest on an image, which has been copied and pasted in from a Powerpoint presentation.
I have used the right click context menu, and selected the Apply Effect option. From there, I have selected Entrance > EaseinRight and as expected, the motion path is displayed. The timing is for ‘Rest of Slide’ and appear after is set to 6 seconds.
However, when I save and preview the slide or project, the smartshape and effect does not show in the output. Am doing something wrong, or missing something here…?
Apologies… full time line shown now. I have ungrouped, so the items are shown separately. On preview, what now happens is that the effect doesn’t show on the intended slide but it does open and show in a following blank slide??
I’m sure it is my timeline ignorance, being relatively new to this application!
That is only part of the timeline. I suspect the first expand icon to be for the effect on the smartshape, but what is in the group? Can you also check the On Enter event of the slide? I hope it is not set to Pause?
To make the timeline totally visible, use the zoom slider which is at this moment completely zoomed in. Click the expand icon (triangle) for the group to show what is in that group.
Have a look at this blog post, many users have visited it:

I can only guess of course. My suspicion is that you have a pausing point somewhere on the slide, before the start of the timeline of that smartshape. If you insert a screenshot of the timeline, it would be easy to confirm that suspicion. Both the smartshape and its effect would not appear until the playhead is released and continues his journey on the slide.
