Deleted Slides Appearing in Published Project

In a software simulation project, I have deleted hidden slides, saved the project, closed the project, and re-opened it. In both preview and published project, a deleted slide appears in the final product. It ‘ghosts’ over several slides. It appears until the show mouse click property is activated within the project.

I have deleted the slide from the Library, too.

I think the issue might be hiding in your master

I think there is a problem with your timeline, check your timeline, other than that this is very strange. you might try to move the elements of the project to a new project to seem if the problem is solved.

I would also check to make sure that you don’t have an object hidden in the timeline but timing set for display for rest of project. That could cause an item to appear in the published project on multiple slides.

This is what came to mind for me as well. I would double check this, OP.

Can you answer some questions please? Let’s start with which exact version you are using (see full version number under Help, About Captivate).

Software simulation slides are based on the Blank master slide. I don’t know if you use a custom theme or one of the themes packaged with Captivate. The Blank master slide needs to remain blank, is that the case? It is the first suspicion.

A hidden slide doesn’t need to be deleted, that is already weird. Are the slides static sim slides or Full Motion Recording slides?

It would be great to clarify your last sentence:

“It appears until the show mouse click property is activated within the project.” What do you mean?  Is this part of the editing? If your software simulation was in demo mode, you would have mouse objects. If it is in Training or Assessment mode, click boxes and Text Entry Boxes are added to pause each slide. What do you mean by that sentence which is puzzling me.

I presume it is a non-responsive project. You talk about Preview, but only F11, Preview HTML in Browser gives you a real Preview for HTML output. The other preview methods do use temporary SWF output.

That’s very unusual. You may wish to report this to Adobe as a bug. In the meantime you might try copying and pasting the slides you wish to keep into a new project.
