As a new user of Captivate I find it difficult to understand why when I chose a theme for a project that I don’t like and I want to go back to the previous theme, I can’t just undo. maybe there is a good reason for this that I will discover later on as I become more experienced. However for now, I am not enjoying this tiny bit of the user experience.

Thank you Lieve for your help with this – I’ve noticed you leave very good feedback on a lot of posts!

Not because I need scores, but because I want to help Captivate users to solve their issues.

Just have deleted tons of notifications of your comments everywhere, looks like you need scores.

Thank you for the quick response Lieve. More importantly thanks for the blog, as a new user I found it gave me some added direction on where I need to focus. I am adding it to my resources folder.

Besides Themes, the Timeline and Quizzing are the three real challenges for new Captivate users. You can also find a similar post with a pdf about those two other topics. I can post only one link in a comment to avoid moderation waiting time (can take up to a week). Here is one:

Timeline Resources – eLearning (adobe.com)

I will post the third one in a separate comment.

It is very simple to switch to another theme. Open the dialog box from the big button Themes. Click on the Theme you want to use, and confirm your choice.

Careful: if you have overridden object styles (they show a + sign in the style field) for objects, the result can be frustrating.

Themes are very powerful, but training doesn’t really focus on them. You can have a look at the multiple blogs I wrote about them. In this post you find a free pdf with all the links:
