This is the variable how to make refresh button work and hide layers upon refresh in Adobe Captivate!!!

- Click on the button where you want to make the refresh work.
- Go to properties panel.
- Click on use as button.
- Click on actions.
- On success click and find “Execute Advanced Actions”.
- On the right of hand side click on the files icon in yellow.
- Name the action as you like.
- Double click on actions and type as follows: Expression, cpCmdGotoSlide.
- Click on variables and type “cpInfoCurrentSlide”.
- Select minus sign “-“.
- Click on literal and insert “1”.
- Then you select hide on the next line and select the layer you want to hide while refreshing.
- And on the last line after you hide your layers, double click on the next line and put “Continue”.
- Save as action.

You just show the Replay action, which will not reset everything at all on a slide. For several features it is necessary to ‘re-enter’ the slide, and even have an On Enter action to restore everything. I blogged about the difference between Replay and Reset actions, and created a Captivate tutorial as well. Here is the link to the blog:
