Hi,
I have a project which contains at least 5 MP4 videos inserted on individual slides. I’ve used the halo skin to enable the user to view in full screen mode. When the video reaches its end, the screen remains full size. Is there a way to either return to small screen size or get it to automatically go to the next slide? It would be helpful for this to happen without the user having to interact/click the screen toggle on the video, as some won’t know how to do it. I’ve used a progressive download event video with slide length of 1.5 seconds. If I select display for duration of video, the screen reduces to original size when video ends and allows me to see instruction and next button BUT the video is displayed on all remaining slides. If I select display for rest of slide the video stops and remains in full screen mode and the user cannot see the instructions. Thanks in advance
In the Timing panel for the Event Video Object, there is an option to Pause slide till end of video. Once your video gets to the end of itself it should automatically transition to the next slide so long as you have not added any interactive elements (buttons) that will pause the slide.
Hello Paul, I have an additional problem that relates to the question above. I did what you said in the previous answer and it works absolutely fine, play video in full screen mode and it automatically moves to the next slide. BUT if I pause the event video at any point during playback, it could only be 3 seconds into a 2 minute video, it thinks its at the end of the slide and moves onto the next one automatically. Do you have a solution to prevent this happening?
Just add a [NEXT] button towards the end of your timeline that learners must press to go to the next slide.
Hi Paul,
The videos will be played in full screen mode, hence the need for it to automatically go to next slide at the end of the video, this works perfectly fine. If the user pauses video playback, using the halo skin control bar, (I’ve hidden the captivate control bar) it then jumps to the next slide before resuming and watching until the end of the video. I thought the event video was independent to the slide properties, I’m confused as to why pausing the video causes it to move on. Any other suggestions?
