Is there a way to reset the questions in a Captivate quiz on retake with a new set of questions randomly selected from the question pools? Currently, when users click the retake button they are faced with the same exact questions even though we have the quiz set to randomly pull 10 questions from 10 question pools that have about 5 questions each. We would prefer that a new set of random questions are presented to users on retake. Has anyone ever solved this?
Not out of the package, sorry. This is the default setup: the random questions are selected from the pool when the session is launched, and cannot be changed automatically. Retake will always present the same selected questions.
You should need to close the session and restart a new session to have a new set of questions. This is a long-standing feature request, you could add your name to that request.
Alternative would be to have all the questions in the project, use JS to select randomly and have a custom navigation set up to show only the selected slides. Beware: you’ll also need programming skills to keep the total acquired score on a quiz attempt in a user variable, to be transferred only to the system quizzing variables after passing the quiz.
