Captivate Slide Audio bug
(2)

In recent weeks I noticed that the SlideAudio Edit in Captivate is malfunctioning. The right side is stretched out, and there is no Save nor Close buttons. When I try to edit slide audio, I’m stuck. The stretched out right side prevents me from actually seeing the entire audio track, and I can’t save or close the audio editing pop-up, and as it is system modal, I cannot close Captivate itself.

SO I have to close all my applications, re-boot my computer, and have it do a hard close of Captivate. If I’d not saved, then I lose all recent work I’ve done.

There appears to be no updates to Captivate, so I cannot update.

Who else has had this issue?

The first thing I would try is to resize the window. Some panels in Captivate are not resizable, but Slide Audio is. Hover your mouse on the left edge of the window and see if you can reduce its size. You may have to reposition it to get the window onto your current screen.

Another possibility is to reset Captivate back to factory settings. Here is a video about that.

Please mention the exact version you are using. The full version number can be found under Help, About Captivate.

Did you install any other updates (OS, drivers…)?

I would first of all try to clean the Preferences. Close Captivate. Find the subfolder ‘utils’ under the installation folder and run the CleanPreferences… file appropriate for your OS. Restart project and see if the problem has been solved. Sometimes clearing the cache can help as well if it has grown too large. That is easier: Preferences, General settings has a button for this functionality.
