Greetings!
A collegue created a course for our company. She no longer has Captivate. I am trying to update the course and can’t. What do I need to do to update information? I have unlocked the course.

First of all you need to check which version has been used to create that course. If that version was more recent than your version, you will not be able to open that course. The most recent version at this moment is 11.8.1.
