Mouse Click not recording using Captivate Software Simulation

Good Day, I have recently upgraded from Captivate 2017 to 2019. I am trying to record a software simulation training and demo. I am using Automatic recording, multiple monitors (I have tried recording from each monitor, including disconnecting and only using the laptop), but it is not recording the mouse clicks. It does seem to be recording “some” of the keystrokes when typing, and all of the “Enter” button strokes.

Can anyone assist in what the issue may be? Are there any specific settings other than using Automatic that need to be set in order to use keystrokes?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Dirk

If you used the primary monitor for capturing, it should be fine. You didn’t answer my question about Run as Administrator.

Since you using a monitor at 100% display resolution and HD you didn’t get the invitation to change the DPIAwareness setting in the AdobeCaptivate. ini file. There is a lot of info missing on the Adobe site.  I started my Captivate blog in 2008 to supplement info to the Help, and that is still what I am doing.

The  monitor used for the recording application needs to be the primary monitor. If you are on Windows, make also sure that you run Captivate as Administrator. Take care of the requirement to have 1px/px by either changing the resolution and display resolution of the monitor or changing the DPIawareness setting in AdobeCaptivate.ini.

Can you please check the exact version you are using in Help, About Captivate? Some versions had problems with the capture process. Did you capture in Demonstration, Training or Assessment mode? Did you check the defaults for the chose modes in Preferences?

What do you see in the resulting output? I never use sims in Demo mode because Video Demo results in a much higher quality and has a dedicated editor. If you are in Training/Assessment mode: do you see click boxes on the Timeline and/or Text Entry Boxes?

2019 Release _ Version# 11.8.1.219

I have a laptop and 2 additional monitors
Size of text, apps and other items: Both monitors and laptop are set at 100%

Resolution: Both monitors and laptop are set at 1920×1080

Orientation: Both monitors and laptop are set Landscape

Multiple displays set to Extend desktop to this display

One of the additional monitors is set as Main Display and this is the monitor I use to record Captivate.

At first I recorded both Demo and Training, but then changed to record training only.

I got a slide from my last contract that has preconfigured click boxes and other items and those now work, however when I apply the highlight and other items the final “size” is off and the boxes are not located where they were placed. It seems that the sizing of the project somehow is off. Thank you very much for your assistance.

I am not aware of the DPlawareness setting. I have not been able to locate any information on this on the Adobe site.
