Hi folks, I need to design and create a short video of about 3 minutes to introduce the Accounts department and explain the workflows for various queries related to payroll, payslips, tax deductions, etc. The target audience for the video is employees within the organization who may not be familiar with the role and functions within the Accounts department. Given the short duration of the video, I am wondering how to include the most relevant details without overwhelming the audience.

Tell a story! The fictional employee faces challenges and seeks the Accounts department’s help. Introduce the department, and answer common questions. Make it relatable and memorable. Adding infographics to the video will make it further informative and easy to consume.

We can use a storytelling approach to engage the audience. The video could feature a fictional employee who faces challenges with financial matters and seeks help from the Accounts Helpdesk. Through this narrative, we can introduce the department’s role and functions while addressing common queries. This approach will make the video relatable and memorable for viewers.

Make good use of the possibility to give the learner control by adding at least a Play/Pause button, the possibiity to navigate back to previous slides (Table of Contents). Duration of the course in ‘editor time’ can be completely different from the time spent by the user. Make it engaging, and they will not complain.
