Slow LMS load times
(3)

Hi Team,

New to working with Captivate 2023 but am having issues when I load a SCORM file into our LMS.

I have been playing with SCORM 1.2 and 2004 in our LMS, and have found that the course takes a very long time to load – anywhere between 5 and 10mins. The course package sizes are between 70 to 100mb so nothing too huge.

Out of being curious I have also tested SCORM files from Articulate and evolve and they work with no issues, so am wondering if anyone has experienced this before at all?

Using Thrive LMS for anyone who might be familiar.

Thanks for the support.

I don’t know if you also have installed Captivate Classic and tried to compare? Personally I do a lot of those comparisons but did not yet test LMS upload times. On the whole New Captivate feels a lot slower also during editing and in the two previous decades I never had that much crashes as with version 12, lost lot of projects as well.

Thanks for testing, I really hope that they will approve my comparison blogs here as well, because they apparently are banned. Do you know the proverb: hiding your head in the soil like an ostrich? The bird is doing it to avoid eye damage, why here?

The New Captivate is very slow, I did hear this complaint multiple times. I wonder it is related to the LMS itself? Did you try to upload to SCORM Cloud for testing? I would also try to avoid the old SCORM 1.2 and use SCORM 2004 and use recent versions of the browsers (avoid Safari in any case).

Hi Lieve, same issue with SCORM cloud.

I have tried using 1.2 and 2004 and both have the same issue which is a bit unfortunate, running everything in Chrome.
