Creating a slideshow in Adobe Captivate
(3)

I am developing a course in Adobe Captivate, and want to include the slideshow at the beginning of the course to set the context. The slideshow should be created using different images. Can someone help me create a slideshow in the new Captivate?

Just another idea: did you check out the Carousel widget? It may have exactly what you want with less hussle…

You can easily create a slideshow in Captivate using the bookmark feature and adding states to the image component. Start by adding the image, and add the images you want to play as slideshow as states in the image component. Go to the timeline and add the bookmarks according to the number of images you have in a slideshow. You can adjust the bookmark according to the duration you want your image to be displayed in a slideshow. Now go to the “Interactions” panel and add an interaction for every bookmark you added to the timeline. Add the interactions on “slide enter,” choose more under “Action,” select “Go to next state” on the next screen, and choose the image component. Do this for each bookmark, you will have your slide show created. You can also apply animation to each image state using the interactions panel, choose “Apply animation” under “Action. Choose the image component and select the animation of your choice. Additionally, you can add sound to the slide show by adding audio to the timeline to enhance the slideshow experience.

This could be as simple as having a multistate image in combination with buttons which switch to the next or the previous state. Do you want to have the slide show playing automatically or let the learner control those buttons? For automatic playing you can use a While loop.
