

“Something Went Wrong”
I’m fairly new to Captivate – but I find I’m spending a lot of time rebuilding slides because they stop working in Preview. I’m having particular problems with the ‘Click To Reveal’ widget. I get to a certain point – and then – it breaks! The message in the preview browser says “Something Went Wrong.” Does anyone have any advice? So far, I’ve had three attempts at building the same slide – and I want to be able to customise the look! It’s a tad frustrating!

Please can you share the few details around the query :
– What is the point version of Adobe Captivate on your device? You may check that from Help->About Adobe Captivate
– Which Operating system and version are you using?
– Are the Captivate project files saved locally or on a network/shared drive?
– Is it a work computer or personal machine? If work, does the user account has admin access or local access?
– Are you experiencing this issue with a specific Captivate project or all files?

Thank you for your query.
Please install the latest version of Captivate 12.6 from here. Once installed, you must clear the preferences after installing the update. Follow the instructions to clear the preferences:
For Windows: Double-click the file CleanPreferencesWin.bat in ” C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate\utils”.
For macOS: Double-click the file CleanPreferencesMac in /Applications/Adobe Captivate/utils/CleanPreferencesMac.
Please make sure you save your project locally to the system and not on a Shared/Network drive.
Once done, please re-launch Captivate and check.
