Captivate Classic files opening with objects as part of the background!
June 2, 2025

I am using Captivate Classic to maintain files from as old as 2018. About half the time I open these files in Captivate, and the project objects (like text boxes, icons, etc.) become a part of the background and cannot be edited. I started realizing this when I was exporting the images to confirm system changes with SMEs and the objects were blocking critical portions of the screen. I have two slide examples below as well as a screenshot of the library with a slide’s background (complete with caption and icons) visible.
How do I fix this?! What do I do?! I cannot get new screenshots for all the maintenance we have!!!

Using Captivate Classic, version 11.8.3.8., Windows 11, 64-bit system. Pulling these files down from SharePoint.

Just a guess, but this is what an imported PowerPoint file looks like to me.

If Captivate lost the linking to the original PowerPoint file, this might happen?
