cropped-Presenter-9_facebook-banner_2.jpgToday Adobe introduced the new Adobe Presenter 9, a fantastic tool for anyone to create interactive content and videos. Presenter has a long tradition of innovation. If you are in business, education or training, the new Presenter has a LOT to offer you.

What does it do?
At it’s core, Adobe Presenter allows anyone to easily convert Microsoft PowerPoint projects to either videos or interactive applications. Along the way you can add a wide variety of ‘no programming required’ interactions and quizzes, add your voice and even add amazing video from the comfort of your desk. Adobe Presenter installs right inside Microsoft PowerPoint, so you’ll have no problem creating content, and it adds additional tools that are super simple to use, and that help you add great audio, beautiful video, awesome animation and engaging interactions – all without any programming.

Who Uses It?
Adobe Presenter 9 is used by a lot of people in many different fields. Not surprising, because so is Microsoft PowerPoint. Here are some of the biggest groups of users. Trainers, Instructional Designers, Subject Matter Experts and eLearning Authors. These folks use Adobe Presenter to easily create Quizzes and content and get it out to their learners quickly. Adobe Presenter is also very popular with Sales, Marketing and Business Managers. Adobe Presenter features a revolutionary video tool – it’s totally intuitive to use and saves time and money while opening the door to social video creation for everyone in enterprise. Traditional educators also love Adobe Presenter for a couple of really big reasons. It makes video creation so simple that students from Kindergarten to College can easily use it to create fantastic videos. That builds a technology bridge for 21st century skills that help teachers meet their educational objectives and provide 21st century skills experience for all of their students without missing a beat. Teachers also use Adobe Presenter 9 to flip their classroom – putting lectures online, so that they have more time to spend during class working directly with students.

What’s new in Adobe Presenter 9?
I’m incredibly excited about the new features in Adobe Presenter 9. Top of my list is Learner Collaboration and Intervention. These brilliant new features combine modern social media experiences with innovative tools in learner tracking.

Learner Collaboration provides you with a sensational way to introduce conversation, questions and discussion into your published course modules and Presenter Projects. Whether you want learners to interact with instructors or potential customers to interact with you and your team you’ll find that the collaboration tools are ideal for hosting social interaction. Educators will especially enjoy this option as it effectively re-introduces class discussion into courses and it makes the experience even more powerful by tracking the interactions that students have with you and one another, encouraging robust communication. You’ll be able to evaluate student participation and can even automatically include it in the course grading criteria.

Learner Intervention extends the social collaboration experience and integrates the traditional quiz outcomes to create a modern and powerful solution for analyzing the student learning outcomes in your course. Just click on the handy dashboard link from your authoring ribbon (right inside PowerPoint) and you’ll see real-time data displayed in easy to understand charts and graphs, letting you see first hand how well your learners are doing on every aspect of a course. You can easily click through to individual students and get an immediate sense of which students are doing well, and which students need additional attention from you. Finally educators have the power to detect early potential problems with learning and to intervene early – improving the chance that the student will meet and even exceed their expectations.

Another amazing new feature in Adobe Presenter 9 is the speech to text & annotation enabled personal video creation tool. You’ll be making your own custom YouTube videos in seconds with this super-simple video tool. It was awarded the prestigious CODiE award in 2013 for ‘Best Video Tool’ and after just a few minutes you’ll see why. The video creation solution seems almost magical. It easily generates sophisticated ‘studio quality’ videos with animated transitions, professional looking titles and lower third graphics and sizzling hot pan and zoom effects. With just a few buttons you feel like a video pro and as you think of the thousands of dollars you’re saving bypassing expensive studios and recording sessions – you’ll feel like a wealthy video pro. In every field there are tools that we remember. The ones that signal the move from creation by a few super-geeks with specialized skills to creation by the rest of us. With the video tools in Adobe Presenter 9, you’re bound to see that video is no longer only for super geeks. We can all make great looking, professional videos and we don’t need tons of money or time to do it.

Also new in Adobe Presenter 9, Drag and Drop Interactions. Now you can create drag and drop quiz questions without any programming, right inside Microsoft PowerPoint. It’s simple and quick and you’ll be able to easily design and create all kinds of cool interactions.

One of my favorite new features is the scenario builder. Using the scenario builder Presenter will generate complex multi-path navigated scenarios for you, and all you need to do is drop in the text. Whether you’re creating sales training, soft skills solutions or just experimenting with scenario based learning – the scenario tool will save you time and hassle by solving many of the most challenging problems for you.

Accessibility has been a crucial issue for most of us for quite a while now, and around the world the expectations to maintain accessible material online continues to escalate. Adobe Presenter 9 contains many Accessibility enhancements to help you easily create 508 and WCAG 2.0 compatible content. From support for screen readers via arrows and tab keys to speech to text automatically generated after video recordings Presenter 9 has powerful Accessibility tools to support your content creation needs.

Every day now the world seems to get more mobile with it’s computers. It’s become an expectation that content we create will run well on mobile devices and Adobe Presenter 9 meets and exceeds that expectation. Using Presenter 9 you can simply publish your file as a SWF for playback in online browsers, and the free and terrific Adobe Presenter Mobile App (both for iOS and for Android) will automatically play back that Flash file on iPads, iPods, iPhones and Android devices.

These are just a few of the many amazing new features and enhancements in Adobe Presenter 9. If you haven’t tried it out – what on earth are you waiting for? Download your very own free trial copy of Adobe Presenter 9 here; http://www.adobe.com/products/presenter/

If I have a Master Suite maintenance plan, a TCS maintenance plan, a CC subscription, and a Connect account via my ACI credentials, do I have any options for acquiring Captivate 7 and Presenter 9, or am I stuck at Cp6 and Pn8?

I’d like to see a comparison chart between Adobe Presenter and Adobe Captivate. There seems to be a big overlap between the two products. Where does one end and the other start?

Sounds great – we’ll be able to use it as soon as it joins the CC.

The same goes for Captivate!
