Adobe Captivate 7 is shipped with some great looking themes to help you get started with your eLearning course creation easily. These themes help you save a lot of time that you would otherwise have to spend in creating graphical assets for your eLearning courses. These themes are bundled with multiple eLearning screen layouts to choose from, so that you can easily select the one that suits the content type for your eLearning course screens.

Along with the ability to use existing themes, you can also create your own themes and add them to the themes panel and start creating your courses from there. This is especially useful when you have to use a branded template for your eLearning course creation and need a consistent look and feel for your courses.

Let’s take a look at the steps you need to follow to create a custom template and add it to the themes library in Adobe Captivate 7.

Step 1: Create and save a custom theme

Step 2: Style the master slides and objects on master slides

Step 3: Add and/or delete layouts and placeholder objects in master slides

Step 4: Set object styles and stylize the table of contents, border, and skin properties

Step 5: Set simulation recording defaults, save theme, set it as the default theme, and create a new project with the new theme applied

Do let me know, by leaving a comment here, if these step-by-step tutorials are useful for you. Also let me know if you need such tutorials for any other Adobe Captivate and Adobe Presenter workflows.

Happy captivating! 🙂

Yes, you can convert the Submit button from Text to Image button and add your own custom button artwork. Check out this post for details: https://elearning.adobe.com/2011/04/creating-custom-adobe-captivate-5-buttons.html

Is it possible to create your own question and answer style for Captivate 8. I would like to remove the little radio button so that the user can just click on the icon I’ve inserted.

Hello. I am trying to add a placeholder slide to my Captivate 8 template, but I can’t seem to figure out the trick. I know in order to add placeholder objects you have to be working with a Master slide. How do I add a placeholder slide in Captivate 8? Thanks.

Thank you! Is it also possible to change the “completed” checkmark icon? (The one that shows up beside the TOC slide title when the user completes a slide.) I.e change the color, remove the border..
