Hello,

I am using Captivate 2017. When I publish the course for device then show it in Browser. I find a White Page with Play Icon and I have to click this icon than I can begin the course.

How can I remove this White Page at beginning?

Hello… I am looking to see if there is an option to export a PNG file for the start of my eLearning activity so I can use it as the preloaded poster image. I don’t see an option to export all the elements on the stage as a still image in the same size (1280×270). I don’t mind having them click the button to start the activity, but that white background is a problem because it will confuse them. I would like the layout to be seamless when the user starts activity after clicking the button so it won’t distract them from the activity.

Thanks.

I have stopped launching that feature request, to be able to choose one of the slides as poster image. You need to create it manually.

This is my workflow:

  1. I create or edit a slide which can be used in the project. I always replace the original Play icon by an empty icon.  That allows me to create an image of an arrow on that slide. You need to make sure it is not too large, and center it horizontally and vertically on the slide using the Align options.
  2. You may need to add a pause to that slide, and put it on top in the Filmstrip.
  3. Play Preview HTML in Browser. Your slide will pop in and pause.
  4. Use something to capture the image: Snagit, Snipping Tool…. and save it as PNG
  5. Now import it in the Preferences, field under AutoPlay.

I am not Domiic (from staff) but it depends on your OS:

For Windows, Preferences are under the Edit menu or you can use the shortcut SHIFT-F8
For WIndows, look under the Captivate menu

I wrote a blog post explaining how you can replace the playbutton and have a nice poster image instead of the white screen, and how you can edit the dimming of that image. Have a look at:

Hi Lieve.  Thanks for the info!  One question.  How do I get a rollover cursor to show on the Playbutton?

It is a static image, have no idea whether it is possible to have a Rollover event.

You can change the Preload image with below mentioned option.
– Open Preference –> Project–>Start and End
– Uncheck Auto Play and choose the image you want to load.

Hope this solves your problem

Also. This white page still. I want to launch direct to the first slide. I do not need this white page at all.
