Is there a way to change all states of an object at once? Say I have an object with a text box or a border. Is there a way change one of these aspects on all the states?

You talk about two different things, I suspect both about a shape? Border or fill are part of the object style, the label in the shape is not. You also do not specify which type of States? InBuilt or Custom? Which version do you use?
