Hi,

I’m new to Adobe CP.

I’m using the version 2017.

I created a project with about 20 slides and 2 slides have about 20 Smart shape’s used as buttons.

When I go to assign to the first slide smart shapes the advanced action, automatically they get assigned to the smart shapes buttons at the other slide too.

Same behavior if I vice versa.

I’m going mad, this is going one of my main functions trough out the project, I plan to have 20 of these sildes…

Would be great if I could get help!

Regards
Armin

Are these smart shapes created from a placeholder on a master slide by any chance? I ran into that bug with placeholders in a previous project. If you create the smart shapes on each slide, you should be able to fix the problem .

Hi Christytucker,

Yes they are created from a placeholder on a master slide.

I see i will do the same.

This is a huge bug, from my point of view that’s how it is supposed to work with master slides and placeholder object.

Adobe should but that on the list to fix asap.

Thanks for your help.

Christy, I answsered exactly the same in the Jive forums, because this question was posted twice. Placeholders is something I totally avoid except for text containers. You cannot have a placeholder for a shape button, only for a shape and that is causing the problems. There has been already a long thread on Jive about his problems.

Which version of 2017 do you use? Check under Help, About Captivate. Recent version is 10.0.1.285.There must be something wrong in your workflow, I have been using advanced actions since almost 10 years daily. How did you create the shape buttons: by duplicating the first shape button or did you draw each of them individually? Are you sure that they are not timed for the rest of the project? Can you show a screenshot of the advanced action and of the timeline? Sure that a shared actions wouldn’t be a better approach?
