Captivate 2017 Custom motion path

I’m trying to edit the LeftRight motion path so I can control where an object stops in an adv. action. I’ve tried the method of setting up the effect on the stage where I want the object to stop. Then save the motion path as it’s own XML file. I delete the animation from the stage and then in the Adv. Action, I add the the custom effect. However, the effect is still using the default LeftRight effect. Any suggestions?

I have created the blog post, but it is waiting approval.

There are some problems, in HTML output, when I tested it in CP2019. Those problems occur with Scale effects and some Rotation effects in my case. The motion paths work fine. In your case this workflow could result in what you want. Just be a bit patient for the approval.

The workflow for using a custom effect  in an advanced/shared action is still very cumbersome. I will try to write out a quick blog post and keep you informed.
