Hi.

I was wondering if anyone knew if Adobe Captivate 2019 allows you to add hotspots in interactive videos? I know that you are able to add hotspots in virtual reality or 360 Videos. However, can you add hotspots in interactive videos that have been uploaded via you tube or via your computer. For example, imagine that you wanted to include a more information icon for 5 seconds in the middle of a video. When users click on the information icon, the video pauses and a pop-up box appears that allows users to learn more about a particular topic.

Hi. Thank you for your comment. In a non-360 video, I wanted to create a More Information icon where in a section of the video a More Information icon would be viewable for about 10 seconds. When a user clicks on this More Information icon, he/she would see a pop-up that contains text. I don’t know if this is possible. The best example of this is in 0:03 of a Smoothie video where users can click on an icon to view an ingredient list: https://h5p.org/interactive-video . I know that this interactive video was created using something totally different from Adobe Captivate9. However, this is the best example that I could think of.

I am just preparing some blos about Interactive video.

Before Interactive video feature was introduced with CP2019, I wrote a blog post about a button which can pause the video and show some more information. In the example I am preparing, I will include a similar button. Mostly I prefer n ot to have something appearing for a fixed time (would be possible), but include a way to close the popup in the popup itself.. I will post the link to the original post in a another answer, to avoid waiting for moderation.

Now I am confused by your question, because you seem to confuse overlay content slides in an interactive video, with the hotspots in a VR project. Those are not the same at all!.

Please, clarify your question. Do you want to create hotspots in a non-360 slide, then I refer to my two blog posts:
