Unable to import videos to Captivate 2019

I am currently unable to upload any video (I want to create an interactive video). Neither from youtube nor from my local computer.

Youtube:

It says “A video error has been found” (I translated it, so maybe the english version would say it a bit different). It shows the upload at 100% and the first image of the video. But there is no sound and no change in the image as the timeline proceeds. The timeline is extended and implicates that something has been uploaded.

Local computer:

It stops the upload at 50 %. Same problem as above. It shows the first image of the video. But there is no sound and no change in the image. The timeline is extended though and implicates that something has been uploaded.

Has anyone experienced the same? Do you have ideas what I could do wrong?

Thank you for any helpful input!

try moving the video from shared drive/cloud storage to local storage on your machine and then try importing .

Good to see that Adobe is on top of this issue, I’m having the same issue in 2022 -4 years later!!

Mine got fixed with clearing the cache! Had the same problem tried all sort of things. Started with re-encoding the videos with Adobe Media Encoder CC 2018, then cleared the cache in Captivate, closed Captivate, re-opened, started a fresh project and worked to import my videos that were before stopping at 50%. I think the re-encoding didn’t have much to do with the fact it worked but clearing the cache.

I am an annual subscriber to the Tech Comm Suite that includes Captivate 2019. I’m having the same problem with uploading an mp4 file created using Media Encoder on my Windows 10 x64 laptop. The first image of the video displays, the timeline extends to the length of the video, but then the loader gets stuck at 50%. Can’t do anything else in Captivate but cancel. And, of course, I have no loaded video. Does anyone know if this problem is being addresses?

For the local upload: could you try to recode the video using the Adobe Media Encoder? Maybe the used codec is not appropriate for Captivate

Thank you Lieve!

Apparently it worked to upload the video – Captivate just didn’t show the video inside captivate but only after reviewing the whole project in the browser. And the timeline is limited and not as long as the original video.

I am in contact with the support at the moment and they are trying to figure out why it isn’t working. No idea yet. The URL upload is still not working as well.

Right now the issue isn’t solved, but I will give an update, if I get to know anything.

Can you please start a new question and explain the full problem? It may look to be the same issue, but you can have a totally different setup and even a different version and/or OS.
