Imported PowerPoint slide doesn’t fill the background of the Adobe Captivate project.
Following a video I watched, I formatted my PowerPoint with the theme I wanted, then imported the project to Captivate. I selected the slide size as at the standard PP size 1680 x 945, that Captivate tells me is the original size of the PP project. But when the project opens the slide background from PP doesn’t fill the whole Captivate slide (see pictures). This happens even if I try changing the slide size when I create the project.
Personally I never use PPT import, find it too limting.
Captivate’s files are based on a Theme, which is much more complicated and powerful than the PPT themes. When you import a PPT slide the Blank master slide is used, which has no content at all. The PPT slide is converted to a movie slide, apparently there is something wrong with that conversion concerning the resolution.
Please, if you are serious about eLearning, don’t use a presentation tool. Unzip the PPT file, take out the assets and import them into the Library of a Captivate file with the wanted resolution. Do not forget that the output has to play in a browser or a LMS which needs pixels for their UI. With the resolution you have chosen most learners will have to use scrollbars.
