I am getting this error message: Capture is disallowed since high-density display is detected. Please set ‘DpiAwareness = 1’ in AdobeCaptivate.ini and restart the application. How do I access AdobeCaptivate.ini to input ‘DpiAwareness = 1’? I’m using 2019. Windows 10.
You cannot use recording (video demo or software simulation) on a screen which is not showing 1 px per px. That is the case for retina screens and for screens where the diaplay percentage is set to a percentage higher than 100%. That is mostly the case when using Win10.
To solve this you need admin rights, find the AdobeCaptivate.ini file in the installation folder. Make a copy (you will need to reset the original file). Find the line with DpiAwareness and change to 1 instead of 0. Replace the original file and when restarting the screen will show 1px/px. That may be very tiny but you will be able to capture.
My approach: I keep an old desktop, with a normal HD monitor for recording. Everything is too tiny for my old eyes when using that DpiAwareness approach on Surface pro or my gaming laptop both with retina screens.
