When using a shape to create buttons I am experiencing the following difficulties: (Captivate 2017)
1. I can’t find the Storyline equivalent of size/position option. The Button Properties Reference Guide indicates the size and position of the button (X Y coordinates, width, height) as part of the options tab/Transform. No matter what I do, all I see is Audio and angular positioning options. What am I missing?
2. Also, every time I drag a duplicated button (in a responsive project) to a new location the size changes. Really slows things down. Video tutorials show the buttons appearing same size and in other fluid boxes vs. on top of the original item. Occasionally I can recreate that action, but I have not been able to figure out what caused the change.
3. If changes are made to a shape in a fluid box (unlock the item to edit, lock when done) the items in the fluid boxes don’t automatically adjust (ie: going back to center). I then have to adjust the positioning manually. Again, not ideal and it seems there must be a better way.
I have found workarounds for each issue but again, they take up a lot of what is likely unnecessary time and effort.
Thank you for your help-
Robin
I summarized the three main stumbling blocks (for non-responsive projects) in this blog:

When duplicating a button the problem is again due to the fact that buttons are in a fluid box. Setup of that fluid box will lead to a position and size of the duplicate.
Thank you. I look forward viewing your blog.
I spent a lot of time playing with fluid box sizes and properties. What I still find perplexing is that I can use the same slide, not change any settings, and have inconsistent results when duplicating a shape. The setup of the fluid box does not change but the result does.
Other than these issues I have found Captivate to be pretty straightforward. I downloaded Update 1 yesterday, build number 10.0.1.285.
Did you set up the fluid boxes on the master slide? Instead of duplicating a slide it is much better to use master slides. In CP2019 it is now possible to define Position Properties like in Breakpoints but I find it a lot easier to use Guides. Have a blog post about that as well.
First of all check your version number: it should be 10.0.1.285.
When you are working on a responsive project with Fluid Boxes (not with Breakpoints), the position of each object is defined by the fluid box properties it is fitting in.
Since you are a newbie, as an experienced Captivate trainer, may I suggest to conquer first the basics of Captivate with a non-responsive project before adding the difficulties of Fluid Boxes?
