Any resolution for this issue?  I’m a newbie to Captivate 2019 so maybe I’m not looking in the right place for the answer to the problem I’m having. I can load the mp4 video from my laptop, but not YouTube or Vimeo via the sharing URL provided by YouTube or Vimeo. It gets stuck at 50% (which pops up real quick… then upon dismissing the dialog box, it says ”
Video encounter an internal error.” in another popup box.  I don’t see any app or system events in the event log.  I’m using version 11.5.0.476

I’ve tried a simple project with a blank slide and via “Media” drop down as well as “Interactive Video” drop down menu selections.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

You didn’t tell if you are ina responsive or a non-responsive project?  You cannot insert an interactive video in a fluid box, you need to insert it on slide based on the blank master slide without any fluid box.

Hi Lieve,

It is a non-responsive project. My version is 11.0.1.266. I tried to insert using the YouTube option under Interactive Video. Video ownership is not an issue as it was from the CDC Channel where all videos are in the public domain.

BTW Very nice meeting you at the Adobe e-learning conference recently. You were supporting Pooja and I was sitting for the specialist certificate.

I’m always around here. I really tried the interactive video out, also with YouTube videos and I never have any problems. It is difficult to guess what is the problem you are having. If you are on Win, do yo run Captivate as Administrator?

Yes, I’ll try running as an administrator and report back.

Try cleaning the Preferences. Findthe subfolder ‘utils’ under the installation folder and run the CleanPreferences… file while Captivate is closed. Beware: this may lead to loss of some customization. I will post a link to an older blog post where I explain how you can save some of the customization.

Yes, ran the Clean Preferences and still having the same problem. BTW when you run that utility, the location of cache and published files goes to a default that you must change back to your preferences.

Hi Dirk! The original poster didn’t answer yet. Another thread gave a link to the video and i was able to load it as interactive video.

How did you insert the video? Using the Interactive video button or another way (web object, YouTube interaction)?

Can you check the full version number? It should be 11.0.1.266.
