Unable to record simulations

Hi there,

A couple of days ago I was able to record a software simulation for a web-based application. I need to do more of the same application but now it’s not working. I’ve tried different modes of recording (i.e. Training and Custom) and have tried using the application I’m recording in both Chrome and Edge. Each time I try to record I’m only getting a shot of the final action where I’ve clicked the end button. I’m using a Windows computer, have tried restarting my device, and have even uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Captivate – all to no avail. Is there known issue with this and are there any workarounds?

Many thanks,

Jenna

I am having the same issue.  I am using Captivate 2019 as well.  It only grabs the screen shot of my final screen.  Does anyone have any updates or a resolution to try?

CP2019 had at least 5 releases. Please check the full version number under Help, About Captivate. For Windows the most recent version ends on 553. For Mac it will be a higher number.

Capturing on first monitor if you use a multi-monitor setup? Running Captivate as Administrator if you are on Windows?  Having applied the necessary changes if you use a retina monitor?

Just FYI I am on the most recent version and have no problems recording a Video Demo nor a Software simulation.

I am having the same issue with Captivate 2019, version 11.1.5.499 (latest update).  the program stopped working after the previous software update.  I cannot record screen simulations.  Only the first slide and the last slide where I click “end” on my keyboard.  It does capture screens when pressing “enter” key, but that’s not good for training or quiz creation.  please help!!

Hi!  I’m having a similar issue.  Captivate 2019 with all updates is not recording my screen clicks.  I get the first slide and the last slide, and possibly one in between that shows a dialog box.  But it’s not recording every screen click as it used to.  Very frustrating.  Can anyone help?  I used to be able to do this.  I’m not sure what has changed, but I believe it must have been one of the updates that broke this.

It has been a while since I posted a possible answer. How are you coping with this problem, has it been solved? You don’t get automatic notifications unless you turn them on in your profile in the community.

Since you are on Windows, do you run Captivate with ‘Run as Administrator’ setting? Are you using a retina screen? Which version of Captivate do you use, give the full version number as seen under Help, About Captivate.
