Hi there,

Is it my imagination or does Preview Slide no longer work in the new edition?  I updated today and am regretting it!!

Best Regards

Dave

Sincerely  hope that you did read the comments as well.  Play slide is NOT a preview method, although it appears as an option under the Preview button. It is very useful to synchronize items like audio and objects on the timeline, but it is not playing at all like a Preview is supposed to: pausing points are ignored totally.

Thanks for responses.
If I go to Preview on main menu and then PLAY Slide it doesn’t work.   I cannot see the objects appearing even though the timeline marker at the bottom moves along the timeline.  HOWEVER if I MANUALLY move the timeline marker along I can see the objects working correctly.

AND If I use the play button at the bottom of the timeline (Thanks Learning Plan) this works as expected.

This seems anomolous.

Best Regards

Dave

Hi Dave,

As Lieve said, we named it play slide, because it is used to see the synchronisation of objects with the timings defined in the timeline for every object. It’s the second option in blank project and third option in responsive project.

There is NO Preview slide available, since the team corrected the wording, it is PLAY slide. Reason; this method is not at all a preview, because no temporary output is generated, it never will show the slide as it will be in output. It is only meant for  synchronizing objects. I wished it was taken out as option under the Preview button, and kept only in the Timeline (Play button) to avoid this confusion.

To your question: did you forget to clean the preferences when installing the upgrade? If yes, please do so.

Hi Dave, looks like it is there. F3 shortcut, plus the play button along the bottom of the timeline.

Maybe depends on the type of project you are creating / previewing?
