I would appreciate if someone knows anything about this as I am creating courses for the VA.

Thanks

I work for the DOE. I had to make my own TOC out of buttons, and the screen reader reads them fine. You can get creative, see image.

You cannot add audio to the poster image, think that Enter as usual will also be the shortcut key for the Play button. You can add audio to the first real slide.

Here is the link to the documents, I post it in a separate comment because it will need moderation:

Since you still didn’t get any answer from someone, will try but it is limited since I rarely have to use the US 508. Did you have a look at the release notes for the most recent version of CP2019? There is a part about accessibility but it is not mentioning anything about the TOC. You will still have to create a custom TOC to achieve that.

Thank you. We have found out that you can tab up and down in the TOC with the keyboard but cannot open the slide you are on. We will be creating a very basic TOC to meet 508.

I am sorry about that confirmation. You can create a TOC in a shape, which has hyperlinks. Put it on the first slide, time it for the rest of the project, always on top. Use the On Enter action of each slide to hide it, and create a toggle button to show/hide it. You will need a tracking variable (I use v_visible) to track its visibility

Thank you for your help. I am a fellow musician also. Can I ask you one more question? The first slide that pops up in published output with the play icon https://elearning.adobe.com/2018/03/get-rid-white-start-screen-black-button-html-output/.  I understand why it is there and will be following your post to customize it. Do you know how I can add audio to that first slide so I can give instructions to our sight-impaired learners (508)?
